Green Lane Primary School was built in 1950 and opened with only 5 members of staff.

We have come a long way since then; we now have capacity for 420 full-time pupils and 34 part-time nursery pupils.  We also offer afternoon Nursery extended care provision, breakfast, afterschool and holiday clubs.

On 1st September 2018, Green Lane Primary and Nursery School converted to Academy status and is now part of the Coombe Academy Trust.  Our school is situated on the borders of Kingston, Sutton and Merton.  We admit children from a wide community and adhere to the Coombe Academy Trust Admissions Policy.

Our school has fifteen classes catering for a full range of abilities from Nursery up to Year 6.  Class teachers are responsible for the children’s welfare and delivery of our curriculum.  Work is planned jointly in year group teams with close liaison, communication and support from our teaching assistant team.

During term time, in addition to the school day, we offer high quality childcare from 7.30am-6pm, in our extended care provision the ‘Green House’ which is run entirely by us.  We also offer childcare in the holidays 8am-6pm which is also open to children in the local community.  Our Parent/Teacher Association (The Friends) run regular community events throughout the year.  We are passionate about ensuring that we stay at the heart of our community, giving everyone the best education and opportunities possible.  We are proud to nurture the potential in everyone.

One thing that has been a constant throughout the years is the strong sense of community at Green Lane, with second and third generation families now attending.  One of our Assistant Head Teachers is a former pupil and has now returned to share her passion for teaching and learning with future generations!  We are confident that once you join Green Lane, you will feel very much at home.
